Garden Whimsey

This card was created by Doreen and it is using two of my favorite In Colors this year.........Soft Sky and Bayou Blue. A fairly quick card, but so pretty! I'm glad I ordered the jumbo eyelets, I just hadn't gotten around to that yet and they certainly are effective in a quick way, naturally using the Crop a Dile. That tool has become a necessity hasn't it? Just a little ribbon, a jumbo eyelet and you have a great card. Thanks for looking.

Spring Song

Another new set from the Spring/Summer catalog that I like because we enjoy hummingbirds at our front window starting about May 4! We have family birthdays May 2 and May4 and that's the time we should have those feeders out and ready. It was difficult to decide which colors to use on the bird.......they are many colors, but I used chalks and used a combination of blues and greens. The chalks made this easy and the pink taffeta ribbon made the flower pop. I chose Bordering Blue also. This whole card is soft and romantic. Thanks for stopping by.

A Beautiful Thing

And this card really is just that. I'm not sure who designed this card on Sunday, and I didn't get to make it.........Debbie was helping me out doing the two cards that day, one for Virginia and one for me. But, I can tell you this has cardstock vellum on top of the white cardstock and colored with the metallic pencils. The Stem Sayings fit just right with the flower and it is all held together with the gold brads......a neat and fairly quick card, one you could roll out a whole bunch in a hurry. I like that!

So Many Scallops

This is the card that Mimi Hornberger brought to the meeting on Sunday that was so clever. In case you don't recognize it, it is one of the sets from the Sale a Bration brochure that will be available in February. Mimi is another of Deb's downline that I love to see each year. We started with the coluzzle and cut the circle leaving the fold on the top. Then we stamped the dots background, added the ribbon, stamped the words and punched the scallop. We made our own scallop in wasabi, added the brads and there you have it. Cute? Yes, I think so, thanks Mimi.
And I have to thank Valerie and Dawn for the great help with my camera, no it's not the camera, it's me of course! I still need to hold it steadier, or get a tripod, but the settings are better aren't they? Thanks for looking in today.

Clear picture!!

OK, maybe I don't need to go shopping.........this is what the card really looks like! I tried a different spot and now it's daylight, better huh? I just love this card that we made yesterday and wanted to share the "real" look of it! Thanks for being patient, L

Embrace Life

Do you get the idea that I like this set? Today was the recruit meeting at Debbies' house and what a great time I had. Such great ideas were shared and our shoebox exchange was such fun. This card is not showing up well..........I think I need a new camera to do these cards justice. This one is on Mellow Moss and colored with aqua painters and ink pads. The pink ribbon and brad really does a good job backing the words and the scallops with the pink certainly brings out the pink in the flower. Yes, I think I need a new camera.......oh, oh another expenditure. Of course it is probably me, and any camera I buy may not make a difference! check in tomorrow.

Laura's Seaside

This is my creation with the Seaside stamp. I used Debbie's small word set and added a "hello" inside this large seashell. The wheel along the bottom of the card and the large eyelet gave it some interest. Wow, that was easy to apply the Jumbo eyelet with the Crop a Dile, what a great tool! Just a little bit of red grosgrain ribbon brightened up the whole card. Sunday will be the meeting at Deb's house and her downline will share in a shoebox event........I can't wait for that. I'll have so much to show you next week, be sure to check them out. I hope my camera works OK!!

Seaside

This is one of the new sets I ordered that when it came, I kind of drew a blank, so...........Debbie and I worked with it on Monday and here is what she made with it. My picture looks a little fuzzy, but she made a filmstrip with the black and the spiral punch. It is really hard to tell the clever details, but she gave a little blue color on the shell and roughed up the edges of the white cardstock. The words were from Sincere Salutations. When she was nearly done, we decided it needed a bit of background "something", so she took her Bashful Blue spot and dabbed the whole blue cardstock. It gave the card exactly what it needed. I like this card, how about you? Tomorrow I'll show you what I did with the set!

Pretty Amazing

This was on of my creations that I came up with at Debbie's on Monday. I started with Blush Blossom cardstock and stamped my new background stamp Pretty Petals in Wasabi ink. Then I stamped the flower from pretty amazing in Groovey Guava, topped it with one of the new felt flowers and poked a green, rhinestone bling brad in the center. I mounted the flower on white, then wasabi and stamped the word in Pomegranate. Those two stamps..........Pretty Amazing and the background stamp, Pretty Petals have several matching combinations, the flower, butterfly, and the pretty vine. How nice to be able to use them together. Thanks for looking.

Happy Heart Day

It was so great to spend an afternoon with Debbie! We only used new stamp sets from the Spring/Summer catalog...........each of us making two of each of our own creation. This is one Deb did using the Valentines' card and it is sooooo cute. The Gable Green and Black colors don't show up well in my picture, but she used it around the outside of the elephant and the tag. She colored with crayons and red marker and there is a little bit of hemp tied around the gingham ribbon. Across the bottom she used the Rub Ons from Eastern Elegance. Debbie always adds those little touches that make a card special. All together we made five different cards..........I'm always amazed at the different colors she and I choose..........her Florida colors you know! Thanks for looking, more to come.

Rub ons.......oh my!

Can you believe these are the new rub-ons from the new catalog..............this is all new to me and I surely am excited about them! They are so easy. I am using Eastern Elegance on this little note card and yes, my order brought the Elegant Cheer set with this beautiful Many Thanks set of words. Oh what will Stampin' Up come up with next? I can really get hooked on this addition. Thanks for stopping by...........

Thank you card

Thank you card? It will be when UPS arrives today!! Yesterday I played with the old technique ......shaving cream, one of my favorites. I used Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava and Old Spice shaving cream. Wild Wasabi cardstock and ribbon with some watercoloring from the Embrace Life stamp set. What a challenge to NOT have many stamping supplies with me. It it good for me to use what I have in my stash at the moment, but...........I can't wait for the delivery to arrive today. The last delivery didn't come until nearly 6 PM, I hope today proves different. Be patient, Laura

Embrace Life

Well, well, well..............my stamping stuff arrived and of course I didn't put in all the things I need. How could I not forget to put in my "thank you" stamps when I have several cards to get in the mail. Oh well, of course I've ordered that beautiful Elegant Cheer set and it will be on my doorstep tomorrow so UPS tells me! This card is a note card with Wasabi stamped background, the flower is stamped in Black and colored with my crayons and aquapainter, then cut out and centered with a Rhinestone brad.........I surely remembered to bring those! A strip of So Saffron Designer paper and there you have it. I can't make the scanner work on this printer, but I did bring my camera, so maybe that will be good for me to work that out. I've resisted the camera before, but who knows, I may learn how to use it! Thanks for being patient........it is good to be stamping again.

Hang in, I'll be back with regularity soon!! I can't wait to use those new sets from the beautiful new catalog.
