Western Sky

Good morning, Stampers. This is a card I did for one of Debbie's downline meeting swaps. It is one of my most favorite "quick" cards that just goes together so easily. I call it my "cut and flip" card. The designer paper is Western Sky and of course it matches, because it is both sides of the same paper! I started with River Rock as the background, cut a piece of the designer paper 51/4" by 4" and then cut it again at 21/4 x3" and flipped it. Now you can do anything you wish to decorate it........I stamped the medallion from Baroque Motif in Bayou Blue and punched it out with the scallop punch. I then punched out the white with the Boho Blossoms punch, stamped the little flower from Baroque Motif and you can't see it well, but I added some Dazzling Diamonds to that. Some white taffeta ribbon covers the seam and there you have it! Simple and quick!! No words on this one, but I can add them for what ever occasion I need. Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy Every Moment

This was one of the cards we made at our "cool" table on Saturday. It was created by Christine (CALproductions) and it was a neat card. It opens up with a place for a gift card too. She used Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi with the lady bug raised with a dimentional on the O. Some Pomegranate ribbon and there you have it. Thanks Chris for a very pretty card with a great stamp set.

Splitcoast Gathering May 2008

Saturday's Splitcoast Gathering was just fantastic..........thanks to Linda Tarolli and her helpers! We all had such a good time, and it was run like clockwork. I was especially pleased that Karen Martino was able to go this time. This was my shoebox card that we made at our table and it was a great table. I got to stamp with CookieStamper, Diane 617, Kelly, Chris, and even Linda (two Lindas at our table) Anyway, it was a great day and I learned so much as usual. The Demo swap was superb and I will be sharing many of those in the near future. Back to my card. The stamp set is Live Your Dream from the Occasions mini catalog and the inside has a part of a sandwich bag, so you can add money, gift card or whatever you want in there. My colors are Groovey Guava and Choc Chip. I colored the flower with markers and added the rhinestone brad to the little piece that holds it down. Thanks for stopping by......

Chipboard and Designer Paper

Great time last night at Stamp 10! This was one of the projects we made using the special this month .......chipboard. I must admit I have lots of it on hand, but hadn't really gotten into using it. Now I wish I had done it sooner, it is so easy and certainly adds some zing to a card. We used Ginger Blossom paper, by the way, 4 of the 1 3/8" punches fit exactly up the side of the card. Small oval makes an interesting leaf and just a little crimping on the corner gives it a boost too. The words are from Short and Sweet, one of my favorite word sets. It just fits in where you want something small. The button has some linen thread in the middle. Oh, and River Rock was the base for the whole card........love that River Rock! Happy day to you all.

Pretty Amazing!!!

There are so many things about this card that are "pretty" Amazing! First of all, it's the first time I've tried a challenge, can't remember whose challenge it is, but it called for three different designer papers. So.....I used Berry Bliss and mounted it on Pretty in Pink along with the scallop edge. I rock 'n rolled the flower from Pretty Amazing in Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa and then added a "pretties" flower from the kit! I did rub a little color on the flower and then added the rhinestone brad. Chocolate chip ribbon across the card and there you have it. I must try more challenges, it makes the card-making much quicker and simpler.

Looking forward to tonight's Stamp 10 class.........hope to see lots of you there!

Fabulous Blue Flower

Somewhere in my blog searching "hours", and I admit I do spend a lot of time reading blogs, I saw this color combination and couldn't wait to try it. Bashful Blue with rock 'n roll Perfect Plum. I apologize for not remembering where I saw it, but I really liked it. Historically I shy away from all the cutting, but with our little paper snips from Stampin' Up, it didn't take me long at all. The half pearl is from the Pretties Kit. Tomorrow night is Stamp 10 and Friends night........three projects you will like! Join us at my studio if you are in the area. Still have a bit of room in both Stamp a Stack classes, June 5 and 6. Thanks for stopping by.

Big Birthday Candle

Good morning Stampers.......time to share some of the Stamp a Stack cards that we made at Debbie's house in February. This card certainly could work for any age or gender, I like cards that cover all the bases, don't you? She also used Sprinkles for the background stamping. Her cardstock colors are Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink, Gable Green and Apricot Appeal. The candles are clear embossed and I like the way she uses the grosgrain striped ribbon.........nice touch I think. There is still time to sign up for my upcoming Stamp a Stack in June! I'll keep those cards secret until June 5 & 6! There will be ten All Occasion cards and a bonus.........give me a call.
Be sure to check out the specials this month at the Stampin' Up website. It's a great month.

Bloomin' Beautiful

I just fell in love with this card that Mary Kay brought to our downline meeting on Monday. I tried it in Groovey Guava on Afternoon Tea paper, but it just wasn't the same! Here she used the designer paper on Bayou Blue CS and stamped in Bayou Blue, coloring with blender pens and ink from the pads. Thanks Mary Kay for such a gorgeous card and sharing it with us, this is a beauty!!
